Since the three-year action of rural residential environment improvement was launched, more than 10 million latrines have been reformed nationwide, of which 60% have completed harmless transformation, and the rate of reforming latrines has exceeded 56%. In order to ensure that the rural toilet reform is completed on schedule, the central government has increased capital investment, focusing on 40000 villages in the eastern region, the suburbs of central cities and other places with good foundation and conditions, and promoting the rural toilet revolution.
It is planned to support and guide all localities to promote the popularization of sanitary toilets in rural areas in the form of awards and subsidies in five years, and implement RMB7 billions in 2019.
